| The farmhouse is situated on a small working arable estate in a picturesque setting, south facing, right on the banks of the famously picturesque Canal du Midi, which dates from 1667 and has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996. The holiday cottage is adjoined on one side to a working barn and a larger farmhouse on the other side, where the owners live. The gite and main farmhouse directly overlook the working farmyard and the Canal du Midi and we are almost next door to the beautiful Chateau of the Domaine with its fabulous historic 12th century tower. A few friendly families live on this small estate and depending on the time of year you’ll also find some seasonal workers resident on the farm. During the summer months the domaine is a little livelier when the farmer harvests the fruits and of course during the month of September we have the wine harvest or ‘vendange’. This means that there can be some farmyard traffic but there are no animal smells or noises to contend with (except for the birds, occasional dog bark or horse whinny). However, this makes Millepetit an ideal opportunity to sample rural life in the Languedoc-Roussillon at first hand, though the ‘bright lights’ of Trebes, our local canal port, are only a 3km walk away along the old tow path. Please note that this is not street lit, so don’t forget your torch for that late night stroll home. | ||

First floor Lounge…with canal view
The first floor family sitting room is bright, spacious and comfortable, retaining lots of character with wooden beams and rafters and the original stone sink, now a feature of the room. There are two cosy sofas to curl up on, whilst relaxing or watching TV.

Kitchen…facing yard and canal
Large kitchen / diner with: - modern fitted units with chestnut door fronts, sink with mixer tap; stainless steel fan oven/grill; stainless steel gas hob; extractor fan; dishwasher; microwave; large fridge/freezer; kettle; toaster; crockery and cutlery. There is also a pine farmhouse style table and chairs with matching dresser.

Main Double Bedroom…overlooking the canal The double bedroom has a very romantic feel with its king-sized four poster bed, chaise lounge and a lovely view over the Canal du Midi.
